Morning...

I have a little question. It's CP4 in the big server.

I have random message waiting lamps lighting up. When users go into their mail boxes they have no messages. I've checked the users config and they aren't referenced by any other mailbox.

Any ideas?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Make sure they log out of CP correctly by pressing 8 then 4.

Ive seen where they just slam the handset down it locks up the MWI.

Cheers Rinky,

I'll check

If your users are on a Norstar set via BCM, they might have received a set to set message. If the display reads "message for you," on the set press "feature # 65" to cancel the message.

If you are on a Succession system and have a maintenance set, put a message cancel button on the maintenance set. Then, press the "MsgCancel key, dial the ext. that has a light without a message, then press the MsgCancel key again. (You don't need to lift the handset or get dial tone to use this feature) I've even used this feature from my Sucession phone to reset a MWI light on a BCM. (Connected via VOIP trunking with 7-digit CDP/DSC dialing plan).
