Message Waiting Indication

I have set up a Message Waiting Indication Key on a 5312 of someone else's VM Mailbox. I did it through Multiline set Key assignment.

When the message lamp on the other phone is flashing, the key programmed on the other phone also flashes.

However, when I press the flashing key in order to retreive messages the superset does nothing. According to the help online you can press the flashing key to retreive voicemails.

Please help, how??
