Is there a way to just set up regular did exts on a phone and a mwi key without having to do a Physical Analog or dnic Phantom Plid....

I just have all the 80 users and their Exts already built with a mwi key and a single line key...

Actual problem is that when i call the did i have in Call Re routing going to vm if i call the DID and leave a message. There is a msg in that corresponding MBX but the Mwi doesnt light the key.

but in the ext field for the VM embedded i have it going to the 4 digit DID and on the 80 phones their DID is that same 4 digit ext.

i know how to fix this with phantom on premise line bays but just checking if anyone know a setting that i couldnt find out..

or does it have to be a PHYSICAL plid in order to fire the Light.

THanks ;)

You really need to tell us the platform you are using.

I will assume 3300 as most of your terminology sounds like a 3300.

On a 3300 you do not need a physical PLID to associate a MWI.

MWI's can be associated with Non-Prime single lines, Multicalls or Keylines.

Of course if you don't have a 3300 you can ignore the above.

hmm yes its a 3300 sorry. But I was informed by my techs that I couldnt get a mwi light to appear on a phone without a physical plid to it aka a virtual Pernode with the analog exts. i have tried the scenario exactly to. couldnt get the light to appear checked all the cos settings.

its not a prime but just a single line key on the phone.

i have my call rerouting first alternative going to vm.

Keyline MWI works fine. The caveat is it requires TWO key appearances per extension.

1 (ring/no ring, single line/key system or multicall appearance)of each extension
2 a corresponding MWI key appearance for each extn.

Then in your call rerouting assignment form set each extension to system reroute to voice mail

What rev is your software?

What type of VM are you using?

For the Message Lamp, Are you programming it on a key?

the latest 8.0 ur3 release....
and yes i did but the Message lamp on a key.

This functionality just works.

I can't imagine what you might be doing wrong for you not to get it going.

I recommend you start fresh with ext's you haven't used before.

you sure you programmed mwi activate and deactive in your feature access code assignment

does mwi work on an actual extension? something's dodgy!
