I set up a phantom mailbox for HG2. Calls route to it as desired. Is it possible to have a message waiting indicator appear on some extension in the system?
I dont think you will get a message light to work on the sets if they have a mailbox already.
If you do as Perry states then also Overflow HG to the DN of the voice mail and use Off Prem Notify to call the Hunt Groups DN then all the HG sets will ring when a message is left, display will show "235 Calling"
Best to change the name of 235 to VMAIL so it looks like "VMAIL Calling"
HG users will then know to wait for Bionic Betty's prompts for them to log in and check the messages instead of wondering who 235 is.
She will say press 1 to log in then enter password, same as external off prem.
Also play with the Class Of Service so that Off Prem calls the DN every X amount of minutes with X amount of tries, look at the Setup and Operation guide COS chart.

Awesome. Thanks both. I appreciate the advice curly...I set up the OP notify, but only to one phone and didn't consider the COS. That will be today's task. Do I rename 235 in CICS or the AA?

I think I have missed a setting, or maybe the xfer callback setting (12) is causing a problem?
I have three HG's
290 - ring until answered (timeout 180)
291 - ring 20 sec and overflow to VM 235
292 - ring until answered (timeout 180)
291 is ringing as programmed then rolling to MB 291. I have set up message notify on MB 291, (notify IC 291, start 12:01AM, end 12:59PM). A couple of days ago when I was testing this, it worked. Now, the MB is taking the message, but the notify isn't taking place.
291 is Service class 3.
Any thoughts on were I may have messed up a setting? I need to keep xfer callback at a high number for the other two HGs to work.

You didn't say what the issue is.
"but the notify isn't taking place."
Check the users mailbox to make sure its Enabled.
If somebody gets the call and press's 2 instead of 1 it will disable.
I have to say that 180 is not cool!
That's 3 minutes of ringing for a total of 30 rings.
You wont get many messages because they be hanging up after a minute.

For the two HGs with 180, there is no forward to VM...those I want the staff to answer! (It's a doctor's office, HG1 is for emergency calls/doctors' offices, hospitals, etc.) and HG3 is the inside line (only calls from within our company).
HG2 is the group for scheduling an appointment. That one needs to ring about four times then roll to VM, which it does. The problem is, the notification call to back the HG (x291) isn't taking place. That's what I am trying to fix.

This is the part that isn't working. No call ever comes to 291 from the VM extension.

To check via the phone login to the mailbox F981 then press 8 then 6 then SELECT

The mailbox is 291. It accepts messages. I can access it and play them back.
No one is getting a call at this time (so little likelihood of accidentally turning off the delivery).
I have confirmed msg delivery is enabled for 291 both using the above method and by calling in, hitting ** and going through the prompts.
If it makes any difference, the system is set up in the lab right now and I am the only one accessing it. I have it connected to a single incoming line for testing. There are 8 extensions configured, only five are connected (no non-connected extensions are in a hunt group)
Follow-up: If I set the message notify for MB 291 to ring a single extension (in this case 221), the notify works fine. If I set it to ring the hunt group (291), the delivery call doesn't seem to take place. The HG is set to to Appear/Ring on three phones (221,222,223) and it does so when called either by extension number or from the CCR. Any idea why I can't seem to get the delivery call to go to the whole HG?
