I moved the file from Works to Access 2000. This file transferred fine but it won't let me update. I can add new entries, but not update. Can I get around this Or will I have to start a new data base in access and re-type everything? Please help. Any answers respond to Hugsand kissesmom@aol.com

1. First check that the ACCESS db is not read only. Find in Explorer and look at object properties.
2. Some table attachments ( e.g. some ODBC connectioins ) are read-only.

Even if you can't resolve the issue of the table being read-only all is not lost. You can create a duplicate of your table and then create an Append query to copy the information from your old table.
