I run scanner -n command for a few volumes, and couple of times I get following message:

scanner: ssid ##########: ignoring unexpected `start'

Does anybody know what this means?

Thanks.

Scanner can not read the tape properly. Could be bad tape, dirty tape drives or both. Try cleaning the tape drive, or use a different drive, then try again.

Well, I run scanner for the same tape in three different drives. I've got same messages, for the same ssids at the same spots. SSIDs belong to two different clients backed-up on different days.

Certainly, something wrong with the tape itself or with the data on the tape. But what?
