Customer is using message notification to his office and his cell. He is complaining that he is not getting called on his cell if he is not at his office. I.E.

Message Notification
1 555-1212
2 555-2323

The duration timer is set for 15 mins in the COS.

I thought that if the first number is not reached it immediatly calls the next number and so on.

Perhaps I do not understand how the cascading is suppose to work. I have never had a client that uses more than one telephone number so I have not experience with multiple numbers.

Can someone explain this for me. Thank you

Make sure F983/MBOX/XXX/ Off Prem set to yes and use Pool X
Make Sure F981/ADMIN/Option 6/ Its turned On
Make Sure F981/ADMIN/Option 6/ Its set to PHONE and the correct number and/or any code before the number if required.

I have the first number set as external phone and it calls that ok. however if there us no answer our or the correct password is not entered then what should happen?

Call the first number yourself and see what condition it gives you, maybe it answers?

Here is the way OPN works:
Scenario- 1st 5551212
2nd 5552323
It set to retry 2 times every 15 minutes. It will call the 1st number then wait 15 minutes and call it again. Then it will try the 2nd number, wait 15 minutes and try again. The cycle stops when someone opens the mailbox or no one answers.
In COS programming, Retry Intervals is how many times it will call each number. Then you can set how much times lapses between calls.

what is the best way to program it too call the second number right away. this customer wants to know about his pending messages right away

I understand that there is a setting for the delay between trying each number.

Is it preset to always try each number 2 times or is there a setting that will let me change the number of times it tries on each cycle.

You change to 1 attempt and then the amount of time before it calls the 2nd number.

I am guessing the office phone has voice mail, if that answers, that would count as a contact and it would never ring the second number. Maybe you need to set the delay between ringing the numbers down to 20 seconds or so, a timeframe that is less than the time it takes for the phone to transfer the call to voice mail after x number of rings .....
