Hi

I have a KXTD 1232 (UK version) with three Basic Rate ISDN and about 30 extensions with a VP(s) 50 voice mail working for the last three or four years without any hitches

All incoming calls are greeted in the normal way by the VP 50 through custom greeting 1, if a caller dials 0 the VP 50 rings two phones that are in a hunting group and both ring together. The operator parameters in the VP50 are set to the hunting group ext number.

If the operator doesn’t answer the VP 50 answers and gives the option of leaving a message or trying the extension again. If the caller decides to leave a message then it goes to the GDM rather than the first ext port mailbox. This causes a problem as the operator does not get a message indication on her phone. This has not always been the way. Until recently the message would go through to the lowest port mailbox, which is the main receptionists phone and then she would get a message light on her phone. I don’t remember changing anything either on the system or the VP50 but something obviously has changed. I seem to remember one of the 990 codes was associated with this but cant find my notes on this.

I thought that the auto forward option would be the way to go but you cant set the auto-forward for the GDM.

I hope I explained this properly

Any help would be much appreciated

I know there is a simple solution to this

Cheers

Jody

You can set the operator's mailbox to just about anything you want.

You could also hard code the operator transfer string to send it to a specific extension number or flexible group, and with either supervised or a blind transfer, route the unanswered call to the mailbox you choose.

Example: FT1011D or FT194AD
