I have an Option 11C with DMID integration to an Octel 250. It seems every morning one or two users' lights remain on after checking messages (not always the same users, by the way). The Avaya config notes say the customer data block needs to be configured with CFO (call forward originating party). This switch's CDB is set to CFF (call foward forwarding set). The config notes don't explain why it has to be this way and I need to know if this mismatched parameter has anything to do with the message lights not extinguishing. Thank you.

This setting is for the on the phone greeting and for multiple call forward hops so it is not the cause of the message waiting problem. it sounds to me as if there may be a problem with the dmid or it could be that you have the time of day refresh setup to run and it is overloading the system with message waiting request. if you can do a screen print on the online cdr and see if the octel is turning it off but the pbx is not. Also post the screen print here and I will look at it.

thanks KenMeans. We actually upgraded from a DMID to FLTN integration last night. I know what CFF and CFO are and was trying to figure out what, if any bearing, this prompt would have on the message lights. Since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the MWKs why do the config notes stipulate that option must be set to CFF? I'd love to know...thanks.

what config note number are you looking at i just looked at mine and can't find the cff and cfo in it

I'm looking at config note 7187 (M1 w/DMID). I just noticed that it seems to be talking about integration with a 100; this site has a 250. Note 5.3 on page 7. Regardless of whether it's a 100 or 250 I'd love to know what CFO has to do with the message light. thanks Kenmeans.

i didn't either, but it would be helpful if the config notes gave a reason as to why it has to be configured that way. Thanks for your help.
