Message light won't go out at Extension 10 1

Partner ACS, Voice Messaging R5.0

Extension 10 has message light on, no messages, old or new, I reset mailbox 10, light still won't go out. Can I move extension 10 to another mailbox? If not, suggestions?
 
I don't know what voice messaging R5.0 is.

Voice Messaging is the PC card, it comes large and small

Partner Messaging comes in R1, R6, and R7

Partner Mail VS comes in R1, 2, 3, 4, and 5

Partner Mail is 1, 2, or 3

Regardless, I'm guessing that whatever flavor of VM you are using has a General Mailbox associated with the Auto Attendant, which is 9991 for AA1, 9992 for AA2, 9993 for AA3, and 9994 if you have an AA4. By default, that is the Night Dial-0/Timeout option, and by default, Ext. 10 is the owner of the General Mailboxes.
 
You can try manually turning the light off with feature 10 and enter the extension.

reboot the system after emptying mailbox 10, if the light comes on again then there is a mailbox with messages like TTT said

Thank you. VM messages had actually found their way into mailbox 9991. I have worked with the client to redo their incoming greeting. It was confusing, callers were confused and delayed their choice so much so that it went to the AA General Mailbox, 9991
 
If you're in Night Service, "Record a message in the General Mailbox" is the default Dial-0/timeout option. If that's not where you want messages to go for those that press 0 no matter what, or those that can't make a choice, you should be sure to change that!
