I know that in a Definity system there is just a field on each extension to specify what extension the message light should track, but Im very new to Merlin and have jsut inhereted this issue.

This is an attendant console on a Magix/Audix system. To my understanding, callers call into an auto attendant on, we'll say x20. Option zero on the auto attendent, as well as the timeout, transfer the call to voicemail on x25. What I need is for the message light of the attendant console at x20 to track voicemail on x25.

How is this done?

We have it setup this way and working at another site but whatever difference there is in the configurations, I cant find it.

In the Magix - you can set up any extention as a "messge receiver" for a group. However, the call would have to flow to a voicemail box setup for the group - as compared to an individual extention - so I do not see how this will solve your problem. What is it you are trying to accomplish?? If the time-out/dial zero action transfers the caller to a mailbox for ext 25 - but you want the message light lit on ext 20 - why not transfer the caller to ext 20 and - if unanswered - have it go to that (20's) mailbox? An alternative is to setup a general mailbox type mailbox for ext 25 - and have the "owner" be ext 20.

Thanks for the suggestions Tom.

I asked the person that used to be handling the phones why it was set up like this (auto attendant sending us off to a differnt extension to leave a voicemail) and she dosn't have any idea. The issue with starting to use the voicemail on x20 is that we'd need to record a new message on its mailbox and the person that did out last recordings is no longer with the company. The comapny insists that the recordings have to be consistant, so if I can fix this without having to re-record every message in the system, that would be ideal.

Your last recommendtion I don't think our system supports. All the documentation I've been able to find on the general mailbox type mailbox has been for the Integrated Solution Audix Voice Power; we have an actual Intuity Audix LX.
