message light question

I have a merlin system, using Atl phones.

I have the mlm007 voicemail installed

there are 3 active mailboxes associated with three extensions.

Here is my issue.

we have two other extensions in the building which do not have mailboxes associated with them.

one is located in the conference room. each morning when we come in, if anyone has a mailbox message, the light on the extension in the conference room is also lit.

Is there something i am missing.

Make sure that extension does not have a mailbox. Also, check to see that the conference room extension is not the OWNER of any of the general mailboxes (9991, 9992, 9993, etc.) It is also possible for people to send system "messages" - like "Out to Lunch", In a Meeting", etc. These will aslo turn on the message light. It is also possible that the conference room phone "covers" some other extensions and is programmed in system programming as the "message receiver". One of these scenarios has to be happening. Easiest way to tell is to print out the information for the conference room extension and see how it is programmed.
