I am currently working on a legend rel 7 ver 9 and I am having trouble with messgae lights not lighting and message lights staying on. I have checked the rotary enable for the vm ports, and I have replaced the voice mail 0007 hard drive and it hasn't fixed the trick. The next thing I can think of is the replacement of the processor, unless there is another idea or two out their.
Any help would be appreciated

I would check that the 007 module's TTR's are working. The rotary enable is irrelevant for an 007 MLM.

If you have an 012 Basic Telephone Module or 016 module - the you can easily testthe TTR's.

I am on site and I am testing the touch tone registers and the tests are different every time. In the system there are 16 registers and on the 6 tests that I did it is different from 3 failing the tests to 11 failing.

Yes this was a used voice mail but was installed 3 years ago before we started to have problems.

Any thoughts

The touch tone recievers go in order - from left to right - starting with the 1st module that has them. So, for example if your 1st module with TTR's is an 012 Basic Telephone module - TTR 01 and TTR 02 would be the TTR's on that 1st 012 module. If the next module is an 008 OPT - then TTR's 03 and 04 - would test the TTR's on that module, etc. I am not sure why you are getting different results - unless you are conducting the tests when the system is being heavily used in terms of TTR's required. How many TTR's does your system require?, i.e., how many single-line devices actively being used at any one time? It could be that the voicemail does not have TTR's avaialable to turn on, turn off message lights in a timely fashion.

Are the two TTR's on the 007 MLM defective or OK?

Check the processor error logs for "All TTRs Unavailable" errors - how many are there (total count) - and how frequently are they occuring?? You may need to manually "busy out" the TTR's that are defective - so the system does not attempt to use them (not sure if you can do this with Legend R7). If you upgraded the processor software to Magix R4 - it would do this for you automatically.

I have tested the ttr's on the 007 and find that the ttr 05 passes all the time 06 passes everyother time. There are currently 16 ttrs in the system and only 3 analog devices. I checked the error logs and there is no errors as of this time.

Well - something is strange - the TTR's should either test "good" or test "bad" consistently - not intermittantly. You may have a Processor issue - I would try swapping the processor out - and re-running the tests. You could also test the 007 in another system (maybe a lab system) and see if the message light features work correctly. I have also had it be a "bad" MLX module and or MLX ports - that are not passing/interpreting the vm signals correctly.

I would isolate the components - and test them one at a time to find the cause. Sounds like lots of fun for you!

I had this with a customer do it yourself repaired 007MLM, it would not light or unlight MWI.

I tried my own working Legend mail and the MWI lights worked.

They didn't want to purchase the working unit so they still don't have MWI to this day.
