Message Light on Ext. 10 1

I changed Ext. 10 from an 18D to a 34D and now the message light stays on all the time. Partner ACS 3.1 Partner Mail 3.0 Thanks in advance for any ideas.
 
have you checked the general mailbox ?

have you checked to see if ext 10 is the owner of any other mailboxs ?

if you switch back to a 18d does the light go out
 
If you know there aren't any new messages associated with this mailbox, you can manually extinguish the light by pressing "Feature 10", then "10" for the extension number. The light should go out (messages are not erased).
 
The message light will be reset by the voicemail after a while. Changing from a P18D to a P34D would not cause this, unless the phone itself was defective. I think skip555 is on the right track as usual.

As skip555 posted, check to make sure extension 10 is not the "target" extension for another mailbox. The newer vm units have general mailboxes (like 9991) so 10 can have their own mailbox. Partner mail (stand alone) units do the same thing. You can also have a phantom mailbox trigger a real extensions MWL.

Check that another extension has not turned on the MW lite on ext 10. On non-VM systems, the MW light can be used like a hotel/motel. (F09xx on/ F10xx off) It's manual rather than automatic, and once it's turned on, it stays on.
