message light constantly on

i have a legend system and the phone's message light is constantly on even though there are not messages. is there a fix for that. i know in the definitys there is a command to fix it but i am not sure if there is one in the legends.

To clear the light: press menu, messages, delete if an MLX phone.

on a merlin BIS , touch message and # dial 26 , on anlog # 26

Is this the operator extension. If so check the general mailbox for the voicemail there might be messages there. If that fixes it, change your zero timeout action in the Auto Attendant to go to the operator not the general mailbox.
