I have a customer running Voicemail Pro 4.2.27. With one user when a message is left, he logs into his mailbox, it says "you have 1 new message." the user presses '2' to listen and the system says "you have no new messages".

I have tried rebooting IP400 and voicemail pro server. deleting and recreating the mailbox (in Manager and manually deleting the account).

Thank you,

Brian

First try and delete message. If that doesn't work then.....

Stop voicemail service. Delete account folders in program files/avaya/ipoffice/vmpro/vm/... then start service.

I have to perform this procedure every 6 weeks to keep that issue at bay. As per Avaya, please see below

A user states that he/she is not receiving voicemails. How do I perform maintenance on the voicemail folder?
1.Stop the VoicemailPro service on the voicemail server having the issue
2. Save the greetings folder located at \\avaya\c$\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM to a flash drive or an external location.
3 Remove the greeting folders from \\avaya\c$\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM.
4. Restart the Vm pro service.
5. Let VM pro create a new greeting folder.
6. Stop VoicemailPro service.
7. Copy only the user's greetings to the greeting folder.
8. Restart Voicemail Pro

Beets? Yes! Ask me how I feel about Beets! I like Beets!

If it is a SCN you should check for dupe names and check for a space at the end of the Name field in the user tab.

dbgview will give you a good indication if the correct mailbox is being used and exactly where the message is being created and stored.

Finally you may have to reboot the IPO after account folder deletion and vmpro service restart. Sometimes it is best to create a new user with additional characters in the name or at least spelled differently.

This usually happens on the older systems 4.2 and below when User names are changed without deleting the messages in the vm box.
