Message LED always on 2

We just put in a Merlin Magix 3.0 system and on a few of the extensions (mine included) the message LED indicator is always on. Even though I can check my voice mail and it's empty. Is there any way to reset or clear this?
 
i don't you phones, but i have a legend that is similar.

i believe there are two ways to turn it on. 1)voice mail, where you retrieve the msgs by dialing your vm. 2)phone msg or notice that you recieve from an internal caller. this one usually list the ext that called asking for a return call.

check menu, msgs, and see if there isn't two options listed. if so retrieve both.
 
Another programming option that will result in illuminated message lights is fax notification.

Follow bbonanza's advice menu> message> next to scroll through on the phone display. This will show you if it is voice mail (VMS), a user posted message, fax received, etc.

 
Could also be a message in the General Mailbox (9991,9992,9993,or 9994) and your extension is the message waiting indicator for it.

 
I have found that this works on our Merlin Magix system:

1) Get Dial tone on the extension to clear.
2) Press #54 This toggles enter/exit Message operation mode on the phone. (On Display phones you may see a message “Call Jeff”, “Call 770 VMS”, “No Messages”, etc.
3) Press #26 – This should delete any message.
4) Press #54 To Exit Message operation.
 
i have a similar problem on an extension who owns the general mailbox...but how do you access and clear the general mailbox? pls reply...
