Hi

We have a customer on R8 UR2 using 5312IP sets and when a v/m is left for a user the MWI comes on as does the message key but when they hit the message key to dial the v/m hunt group it just displays NO MESSAGES.

I have had a look at COS and System Options but can't see anything obvious? It looks like the phone is looking for call me back messages and not v/m?

I also tried using a 5224 and the same.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jon

Check to be sure that the VM port lighting the light has the Voice Mail option in it's COS.

More Likely the port setting the message is not in the Voicemail Hunt group.

This can be confirmed by checking the status of the phone.

Locate Feature Extension XXXX

If it says Dialed Message Waiting then you have a problem with configuration of ports.

If it says Callback Message then it's something else.

MIMB wrote an excellent "How to" on removing MWI's after they have been set incorrectly.

Thanks guys for replying.

Yeah I think when I did a locate fe e it was displaying Dialed Message Waiting

Do you think this is a config error on the cos of the v/m ports?

Thanks

Jon

Try setting "Disable Send Message" to Yes in all extensions COS. This will keep an extension from accidentally turning on the MWI with a Dialed Message Waiting by pressing Send Message when calling another extension.

The system will display Dialed Message Waiting if the VM port setting the message is not a Member of the Voicemail Hunt Group.

It would also display Dialed message waiting if the MWI was set by another phone using that method. (This is what SXwizard is alluding to above) Although, I believe the phone would tell you which phone set the message in this case and not display "No Messages" as indicated.

Are All enabled VM ports members of the group? Especially the last one?
