Message from queueing system:
0781-088 Queue nonfood:mad:nonfood went down, job is still queued:
Backend: /usr/lib/lpd/rembak -S nonfood -P nonfood -N /usr/lib/lpd/aixshort /var/spool/qdaemon/tWZz0qa
Backend Exit Value: EXITFATAL (0100)
Job Submit Time: Aug 24 12:30:51 2003. Current Time: Aug 24 20:33:13 2003
Use local problem reporting procedures.

We are using remote queue - printers, but if the queue goes down and the user send the job, then write queueing system this messeges on all terminals - if the user is logged. We are using standard rembak routines, the configuration of the queue looks like:

food:
device = @food
up = TRUE
host = food
s_statfilter = /usr/lib/lpd/aixshort
l_statfilter = /usr/lib/lpd/aixlong
rq = food
@food:
file = FALSE
backend = /usr/lib/lpd/rembak -T 30

I have configured syslog daemon for lpd activity, but the situation is the same.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have an answer for this?
I have been looking for weeks and I cant find it.

My queueing system sends messages to root mail. I have hundreds of remote printers and root mail fills up very fast.

Help!?!?!?!?

the print queu might be notifying syslogd system which in turn sends the e-mail
