Message Forwarding

Customer has a BCM50 Rls3 (all patched up) and wants to use the new Message Forwarding feature. I have set this up before but this particular customer's email hosting is not SMTP but it is POP3 according to the hosting company. According to doc's this only works with SMTP but I am just wanting to check. Any thoughts?

Not being an IT guy I didn't have the answer until I researched this issue. SMTP is used to send and POP3 is used to receive. The tech from the hosting company didn't know what he was talking about.
