Hi
We have installed some IP telphones, if I call from a IP phone to a digital phone I don`t see Message diversion in the display. The call is routed to Message diversion place. Our vendor say that this is how it shold work, but I am not sure. Why can`t IP Phone work like a digital phone regarding this matter??

Hi PCLOP

I don't get your problem.
I have made some short tests and here is the result
MD110 BC12 SP10
Iphone DBC422/425
Applic/Boot/Lang : R5D/R5C/R5B

Iphone call DTS that has follow me to DTS=> display of Follow me infos
Iphone call DTS that has diversion to DTS=> display of diversion infos

Could you describe yours environement and call scenario?

ok
call scenario:
Phone 1234 has message div (*23*4*1500#)
Dig. ext 1235 call 1234 and display is showing lunch to 15:00.
IP Phone 126 call 1234 and display is NOT showing absent reason, but call is diverted. The IP phone act like a analog phone

Hi PCLOP

Ok, I get your problem now.
All generic extension has the same behaviour: if you make the same test with DECT, the call will be routed directly to the message diversion position.

Now why : the reason for Ipphone is related to the H323 protocol. The Ipphone establish a session to call a party. There is no possibility to just display a message as soon as the call session is started; basically, the protocol does not support such feature, therefore the call must proceed to the message divertee position.

For DECT, is it exactly the same.

For external incoming call the situation is identical, the call is routed directly to the message divertee position.

However, if your message divertee position is an operator, the absence reason is specified and the information could be provided.
