Message deleted or moved

We have a user with a very large mailbox. When trying to clean it by moving messages to his personal folders, he gets the message "Cannot move message. Message has been deleted or moved"

Any ideas? At first we thought it was an Anti-virus issue, but we turened off the Norton Anti-virus server.

I have seen this error when attempting to export corrupted messages to a pst file from the information store. I haven't been able to salvage any of these corrupt messages. Also, the size of the .pst file may cause issues. I believe the recommended size my MS is 2gb.
