On one of my clients I am seeing this message each time
a backup is performed:

* xyzserv:/ preclntsave: The tmp file exists. Another savepnpc may be running.
* xyzserv:/ Preclntsave exiting......!
xyzserv: / level=incr, 38 KB 00:00:02 64 files

It occurs for each and every filesystem on the Unix client.

Does anyone have any idea how the system detects this? There
was a period where the client was accidentially being backed
up by two different servers at the same time (the message was
legit then) but the client has since been removed from the 2nd server.

Thanks!

Well, surprise, I did a man preclntsave and it explained what should be going on regarding lock files (.lck) and temp files (.tmp) in /nsr/tmp on the client.

I have tried moving all of the .lck files I found there into a 'hold' subdirectory to see if the problem clears itself up during tonight's backup at 01:00.

I'll report back here what happens...

Hi goony,

is your Problem actual today?
If so,I think there is a bit more information needed
what is the NW Version and what is the OS of your NW Server
and last is your backup successfull ?
