Message 3201 on Proliant 3000

I run SQL 6.5 on a Proliant 3000. I often get the system message 3201 when trying to do a tape dump. What does it mean, actually, that the tape device might be offline? And, how can I make sure it stays online.

in one of the event logs, IMD (Integrated Management Log)....


Please send some more details so I and the other forum members can help you out with this one...
