Wow, is this some kind of rude joke by Nortel?

I decided to start using the feature in the class of service options called "Receive message if mailbox is full"

I thought this was a great option to get users to start deleting messages if callers received a warning that the box was full.

Unfortunatly, mermail wont tell the callers the box is full, it just redirects them to reception.

Is there anyway around this?

set a message retention of 7 or 14 days and you won't have to worry about it.

I'd also be curious if the whole MerMail system is what is full... not just one mailbox.

Yup, run a users list and it will tell you how many minutes each person is using. This will let you know who the culprits are.

I`m only at 68% but I wanted the system to notify callers the boxes were full. Unfortunatly, the system cant do this for me it just redirects the callers to reception and doestn tell them why....really sad setup by Nortel.

I could set the attendant to ACD to an announcement box but then the recording wont sound like the system.

I thought it did, CP does. The re-direct is to give callers (customers) a place to go since they are unable to leave a message, instead of dropping the call. I don't see the sad setup about that feature. As always, technology can not take the place of HR or piss poor management. VM is not a san or archive server for voice and is often used for that un-intended purpose.

Bigindian - I dont mind it going to reception if it at least flags both parties to tell them why they are being transfered to each other. Dont just blind transfer someone.

I would love to limit mesages to 14/30 days but mgmt says "no go"
