How does a remote user record their personal verification remotely? The only way I can see to do it is if you're sitting at the console (enter an extension, pick it up and use the onscreen softkeys to record, playback, etc). In remote user setup there isn't a place to assign a password, so how would they dial in and record one? Thanks,

Greg

You must be logged in to a Meridian Mail mailbox. See
“Logging in to Meridian Mail”

Press 82 on the telephone keypad.
2 Select an external, internal, or temporary personal greeting.
Result: The system confirms the greeting you select.
3 Use the following table to determine the next step.
4 To review the greeting, press 2.
5 To delete the greeting, press 76.
Note: If you do not delete your existing greeting, your new
recording is appended to it.
6 To begin recording or add to the greeting, press 5.
7 At the tone, record your greeting.
8 To stop recording, press #.
Note: Do not hang up the phone during recording as this may
produce a click sound.
9 To set the expiry date for your temporary greeting, press 9.
Note: Whenever you log in to your mailbox, the system
prompts that you are using a temporary greeting.
10 To end your voice messaging session, press 83, and then hang

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. This works great, on a Local User mailbox. I'm inquiring about the personal verification (different from the Internal, External and Temporary greetings) on a Remote User mailbox. Thanks,

Greg

you need to set up a ddi number as an access to MMail. This needs to appear in the "Voice Services DN" table as VM

another one of the vague instructions presented by Nortel.

When you log into the mailbox, I think it's 89 to change the personal verification.....I am assuming the part that just plays the name..right?....but I think it's 89, after you log into the mailbox.

Hope this helps.

John

Recording your Personal Verification:
Personal verification records your name and other details such as your title, department, and/or extension number. Your personal verification is used in your greetings and outgoing messages, in name dialing, and remote notification announcements. Your personal verification is not your personal greeting.
1. Log In to Meridian Voice Mail.
2. Press 89 for personal verification.
3. Press 5 to record. [You might record "(Your Name), (Your Title) in (Your Department)"]
4. Press # key to stop recording.
5. Press 83 to log off or 4 to return to messages.
