Have a client that looks like won;t fit inot a Partner they need to grow above 50 stations. I understand Partner won;t grow above 48 stations.

Is the Merlin Magix as easy to program and remote access as Partner?

Are the display sets used on Partner used on Magix?

The Magix or Legend system can use Partner phones when equipped with 016 ETR modules. However, the system is really designed to work best with MLX or Magix 4400 series phones. The programming can be much more complex - but that is because it is a bigger and more powerful system platform. Remote access can be set up fairly easily.

Harder to program, easier to remote access, Partner Phones can be used, but the Magix phones are better.

keep in mind that the speaker phone in the partner phones don't work well at all off an ETR card.

And with the Partner phones on the Magix you can't use all on the buttons and the display doesn't work like it does on the Partner.(no running clock on calls and stuff like that althought that's really is not a phone issue it is a system thing) I have some on a system and the users hate them. We now only add Magix phones to that system.

As far as the Merlin or Magix sets. IS the design good. Display? Tilt angle? Back Liting? Buttons? BUtton visual indicators, etc as compared to Partner sets? I assume we are not talking about the old style Merlin sets used on lets say a Merlin 410?

Anyone have any links to close up detailed pic shot of the Legend or Merlin sets?

The Legend MLX or Magix series 4400 sets have a 2-line display, no tilt on the display or backlighting - except for the large screen operator-type phones MLX-20L and 4424LD+). The display size is similar to the Partner MLS12D or 18D or the newer Euro style phones. The display is fully functional and provides varying information based on processor software and messaging version.

Here is a link with some pics for the 4400 series phones. I have found them to be very durable and worth the money versus using the Partner phones on a Magix. I would agree with the other comments in that the Partner phones just don't cut it on the Magix but it can be done.

Is anyone coming out with a newer set like the Euro 1 and 2 for the Magix or Ledend?

Is CID available on Magix and Legend systems and sets?

Can SLS be installed on either system?

CID is available on both - not sure what SLS stands for.

SIngle Line Sets. Standard SLS and devices such as modem and fax machines can just be plugged into Partner and they work. No special devices or wiring needed.

CID - Yes with proper modules on either system.

SLS - must have proper module on Legend/Magix. 012 T&R, or 016 T&R.

The Legend phones can be equipped with a multi-function module (which is basically a seperate single-line telephone connection) for a phone/modem/fax, etc. - without any additional wiring needed. It is basically a small module that plugs into the underside of the MLX phone. The newer, Euro-style Magix phones do not have this capability.

I was unaware of a Euro Style Magix set. I thought Magix only used the older style MLS sets.

Any links for me to see what they look like?

I believe there is a link up above - for an Avaya brochure.

Given that Avaya pulled the plug on the Magix platform at the beginning of this month, thus ending the Merlin family of telephone systems, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any new Magix hardware to appear on the market, other than what is left in the supply pipelines.

Just as as for the Legend - there will be Magix phones and modules available for a long, long time.

Tom is correct as there will be equipment available for a long time to come.

My reply was in response to the following post by messagelink back on 4/15/06 @ 5:10...

Does the Merlin MAgix voice mail system allow for multiple AA function. For example a copany with a billing department with a different number than the main office or collections department.

We want differnt AA announcments.
