Merlin Voice Mail Lockout

I have a situation where the system admin mailbox has been locked out. It is a Merlin Mail R3 4 Port stand alone unit. The system asks for a password, and then says the mailbox is locked out. I have tried to put the 6 digit serial number in, but it doesn't accept it. Is there some other back door password to unlock it? Or, is there a way to re-initialize the system? Either by phone or computer link.

If you really want to reset back to factory defaults it is done as follows. Be aware that the entire voicemail will need to be reprogrammed.

Connect your PC's serial port to com port 1 of the Merlin Mail. Parameters are 1200, 8-N-1. At the password prompt enter the 6-digit serial number, hit enter. A menu will appear. Choose 'B' to shutdown voicemail functions. After shutdown completes the menu returns. Press the Escape key. At the 1D: prompt type init and hit enter. Confirm by typing Y and hit enter. The reset will take 5-10 minutes to complete. The menu will return. Choose 'A' to startup the voicemail. In a couple of minutes you are ready to go! Brian Cox

Thanks for the info, but the system doesn't accept the 6 digit serial number. Is there another route to go?
