I have a Merlin R6 v10. I am plugging the 100D card into a Cisco Network Module with Multiflex voice Module. I can't get the to to link up. I have both as b8zs and esf with one of clock source of line. Can someone that might have some experience with this please reply.

Thank You,
Steve

Assuming you have a 3150 or 3160 set up properly, you will probably need a T-1 style crossover cable going to the Cisco so the PBX "thinks" it's looking at a normal T-1. I'm assuming the Cisco is similar to a "Call Manager" setup.

I was able to get the ISDN status on the cisco router to active. All is well. The problem was a bad T-1 crossover cable.

Thank You for the help,
Steve

I was able to get calls across my frame relay network from the merlin 100D plugged directly into my cisco router. Voice quality is excellent. Merlin now is networked in a converged network with 2 other definity's and 1 magix. Using Voice over Frame Relay.

Thank you all for the help,
Steve

Pepperz,

I am using a Cisco 3640 at the central site and a 2620 at the remote locations. The PBX swtiches are Definity's and Merlin Legends.

If you want more let me know,
Good luck,
Steve

Do those Cisco's provide quality of service (QOS)?

Pepperz,

Yes, these cisco routers can provide QOS. Right now I am using traffic shaping to tell it how much voice and data bandwidth. I haven't started using IP precedence so tag different types of data. I am also fragmenting my data when voice is in use to interleave the 2.

Hope this helps,
Steve

Steve,

I am looking to do the same solution voice over frame solution using 2 Cisco 2620's connecting a Magix and a Definity. What would you recommend as far as accessing the remote PBX. I would like for my users to be able to use the Telco facilities in each location as one of my locations is international. So that the international location could use the US pbx for Us calls etc.. Is there some way I can use remote access for this.
Any advice that you could give would be great

Thanks

Will

Wpski,

Well If your international site is wanting to call a us location you might be able to use UDP in that PBX to send an area codes to the DS1 card plugged into the router (usually a group going to a pattern in the Magix)Let the router pas it to the US router plugged into the PBX. Have the Definity grab the full number and hopefully it should pass it out the right connection. I haven't done this as of yet with my locations. I do to have an international location and want to achieve the same things. If the routers see the incoming-number then you should be able to point it to a session target. I will write more later.

Steve,

Thanks for your response. I was thinking of using UDP but i would like to aviod programming a large amount into the tables and find a way to take advantage of the tables programmed in the definity. I was thinking that I could create a table that pointed to the remote access extension on the definity and they have numbers added on to the dialed digits. but I dont know if this is possible or if there is an easier solution. I am am unsure on how this would scale

Wpski,

You might be able to setup a small amount of ARS I think and send it to the router. Tell the router to take it and pass it on to the correct DLCI. Scenario.

Spain wants to call U.S. phone. Person in Spain dials 1-770-555-1212. Magix sees 1770 in ARs and sends it to the PRI plugged into the Cisco Router. The Cisco Router has a Dial-peer that has a destination pattern of 1770....... and sends it to session target s0/0 dlci 15. Router at DLCI 15 has a dial-peer with destination pattern for 1770....... pinting to session target to port 1/0:23.
Good Luck,
Always call Cisco TAC to get your options. You can't beat it.
