Merlin System - Fair Price

We have to option to buy a used Merlin Legend System, The seller is asking what we are willing to pay, I don't know much on the value of a used phone system. Here is what they have

012 w/ Ring (Qty. 2)

Several phones (some digital, some analog)

What would be a fair price for a Merlin system of this configuration.

Well - the priciest component is the Merlin Mail - and it's value depends on how many ports it has. If you look on eBay - similar systems will be all over the place in price. What counts is - does it come with a warranty? And if so, for how long? The type and specific number of telephones also has a price impact. The other considerations are - do you really need everything that comes with the system? who is going to install it and at what cost? who is going to program the system? who is going to provide on-going regular maintenance?

When buying the used or "refurbished" systems be sure to look at 1) Warranty of the system (sometimes they are very good, sometimes not) and 2) If the phones have not been cleaned you run the risk of putting someone's old "pancake base" next to your mouth. - Not a pretty picture, but, something to consider.
You have two types of 408 cards, and they are used with two types of phones. You need to know that yuo have a match of the number and type of phones to the number and type of corresponding ports.
