We have a Merlin Plus with a bunch of BIS-10 phones. I'd like to setup CallerID boxes and Voicemail Indicators(Voicemail via Verizon), is this possible?

What I've done, I split the RJ-45 at the wall jack. The phone still works. From here I've made a cable that connects wall(RJ-45: 4,5(red,green) to RJ-11 3,4 and plugged this into the CallerID box, it says hang up phone or check cable.

I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong...
Any help would be appreciated.

The Merlin Plus does not pass caller ID information. The only option is to run cid boxes off of jacks hooked directly to the incoming lines so if you have 8 lines you would need 8 cid boxes on each desk that has those 8 lines.
Also the caller id comes between the first and second ring and the "talk Path pair" is not the same as an analog line, The phones don't even use ringing current It uses the data pairs to tell the phone which lights to light and when to ring.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense about CID.

How about voice mail indication though? I think this would work as when I pick up my phone now I hear the interrupted dialtone just as I would off the 110 block demarc. Am I using the wrong pins for the cable?
