Merlin Plus Alert Bell??? 5

the problem i am having is i have the phone system installed and such but for some reason when i hook up the bell using a SAA i get nothing.Can you guys tell me what i have to do to get an external alert bell working with this system.Merlin Plus 820d is the system i have.

is the port set to ring ?
what bell or alert are you using ?
if you have a phone attached to the SAA along with alert , the switch turn on the alert should ring in the programing mode, if not i would think you have a bad SAA, if this is for a intercom call did you disable voice annonce

the bell is a universal avaya bell.and what do you mean programming mode.

with a BIS or HFAI phone plug it into the SAA voice terminal jack , push the side programing switch to program, should ring the phone & the bell every 5 sec.

The SAA puts out -48vdc, so make sure your bell is designed to operate at this voltage.

Also, the SAA gets its voltage on the YELLOW BLACK, not the RED GREEEN.
