merlin plus 1988 calls on hold cannot access other lines

I have a merlin plus circa 1988 system. When two calls are placed on hold I cannot access any other of the working lines. I can access the other lines only when two calls are not placed on hold???

How do you access the lines when noone is on hold? It could be that you have only two Sys access buttons on that particular phone. When you put two people on hold it is probaly using those two buttons. Hope this helps.

Faffy,
All of the the merlin Pluses Use Line appearances It does have and intercom though. I Believe it is a limitatiion of the system. I'll have to dig one out and give it a try

Thanks for the info. What I found was for some reason something locked up. I turned off the power on the system and turned it back on right away and it cleared my problem.
