How do I go about setting up a button on the "Console", x10, that will send all calls to a message saying that the office is closed (Legend R7)?
Thanks
Tom

Do you have a Voice Mail? An answering maching? A digital announcer?

Program a Night Service button on the console through Centralized Programming

Under Night Service, specify the Night Service console, the lines to control, and the destination which would be the Voice Mail calling group, or a single line station with some other device connected.

Thanks......there is an "Amanda" voice mail they are using.

Can you have a manual night service button on the legend and also have a time schedule?

The example is the customer wants the ability to hit the button if they decide to close an hour early to force the night message on.

The programming code for the NIGHT SERVICE is *39.

On the CONSOLE press *00 (STAR ZERO ZERO), press an available button, and dial *39.

Now, the set up in the system and in the mail MAY require other steps as well. (Some of these things may or may not work just by default.)

Program the button, turn it on, and see what happens.

If it does what you want, GREAT!

If not, re-visit the forum.

Thanks for the input. I did put the button the operator phone and it lights up and all but that didn't affect the greeting. It seems to work when I disable the time control but not when the time control is on.

FYI - Merlin Legend with Merlin Messaging Rel 2.5
