I have a 3 sites each with a Legand or Magix. The first 2 sites have been connected together over a ptp T for 3 years sharing voice and data. Both ends where set as pri with esf, b8zf and ch 9 to 23 set for voice. 1 to 8 are data and i guess 24 is the d chan. I added the 3rd site and set it up the same but i am unable to get the red alarm light to go off on the new 100D. Th csu shows signal and no alarms. I have set routes and patterns and no longer get a wave off just fast busy. This i guess is a result of the red alarm. Any ideas? Thank you.

What is your line count in the main switch that is the hub? The Merlin is only capable of 80 lines and by adding that 3rd DS1 card for the 3rd site you are already at 72 between the 3 sites just being networked. Maybe the main switch isn't recognizing the lines over capacity? I'm just guessing based on limited info here.

try running a loopback test on the t-1. It will try to loopback to the other card. If you can't, there is a problem in your hardware connection. You can run some tests in maintenance, but I can't remember the exact ones.

GOKINGS>>> If there are only 8 trunks in the b chan grp will it still count as 24 towards the 80 line count?

All 24 will count towards the capacity. Installing any ckt pack, whether the ports on that pack are used in their entirety or not count towars the system capacity of 200/80.
