I have a couple customers using Merlin Messaging R2.5 V13, both of them are having problems with delayed voice messages and skipping within the message. Thanks..

hello,
did you try rebooting the mail? or system?
you can reboot the mail by pulling the flash card
from the slot on the mail itself. be careful you put it back in correctly.

Sorry for butting in,

But is that the reboot "method" that AVAYA recommends for that particular Merlin Messaging?

hmmmm, I think I would feel more comfortable going through maintance and doing the ol' busy-out, reset, restore. What Tier where you at when they told you this. I don't trust the first level tech support, they tried telling me my transtalk problem were due to bad batteries, after a 1/2 hour argument and 100 dollars later, I found it was beyond all that.

You should also be able to restart the messaging by logging into the System Administrator's maibox, and using 989-RESET

Merlin Messaging 2.5.13 had some bugs with it. There used to be a QPPCN to fix the skipping and some other minor bugs. If you call Avaya, they may still have the fix. It comes in the form of a flash upgrade.

Thanks for everything. I called Avaya and they are sending out the flash upgrade.

Does anyone have a spare copy of the MMSG R2.5.13 repair flash upgrade? BIN file is fine! We lost our only copy when we moved into our new building last year!

Send me an email!

The flash upgrade is R2.5v25 or R2.5.25 up from the original software of 2.5.13. This should fix the minor issues of Message playback cutoffs, etc. I've only seen it
not work in 1 of about 30+ upgrades. It is/was free as a QPPCN fix back before they started charging for everything. If you go through AVAYA's tech support line, The patch is free but the call costs $200.00.

We have the software version 2.5.4 which we load as apart of our normal repair process for Merlin Messaging R2.5s.

I don't think that flash would do us any good as it would only flash the drive backwards when R2.5.4 has all the updates on it.

Thanks for the info!
