I have a customer with a R2.5.13 MM that says system full- This happened about a month ago and I ended clearing out over 500 messages. It is happening again and I checked all the mailboxes and have come up with only about 125 messages.
Does the following procedure work remotely? Thanks in advance :)

You can also call into the auto attendant, and dial **x at the auto attendant prompt to get to the internal modem. If all you want to do is set the IP address, that might be easier.

Yes, that will connect you to the internal modem, but you can't do any actual programming of mailboxes through it. You can change the IP address, get configuration reports, and check the error log.

You can find the mailbox(es) that have massive amounts of messages, but you still need the GUI of TUI to fix it.

Thanks TTT!
What is the actual procedure to do this? As long as I can see the mb's with excessive vm's I can manually delete them.

When the AA answers, dial **x to be transferred to the modem
(you know what, R2.5, you may need to transfer the the 12th extension number on the MM card - try both)

When you connect, you will be prompted to press Enter. Then it's the same login and password as the GUI - sysadmin and the numeric password on the System Administrator's mailbox, minus the # sign

What utility should I be using? Hyperterm? I have never done this before.

Really? Hyperterminal in Windows - Start, Programs, Accessories, Communications, Hyper Terminal

I have used Hyperterm but never for this reason- I will give it a try

It worked! I found 113 messages totaling 2898 seconds which is about 48 minutes which is not excessive for this model- I am going to do a backup and restart the MM. Any thoughts on what may be causing the system to think it's full?

I would suggest listening to a few of these messages and seeing if they are just "hang-ups". That would indicate a failure to release calls happening from the CO. This could be a timing issue.

Also, you would want to check if the bulk of these are coming from the same user (or only a few users) and then let them know they need to delete old messages.

It's just a thought.
