I have Merlin Messaging on a Magix switch. the AA is currently answering after 4 Rings, but the customer wants it to answer after 3. I'm not sure what the big deal is with the extra ring but this is what they want. Any help?
The "usual" way of delaying the Auto Attendant's answering is to assign the lines to a calling group, and use Time-Based overflow to the Voice Mail Calling Group. So you need to find the group they are assigned to, and then change the timer to a lower number.
Start with a print of your Calling Groups to spot the right group to change.

I think i see where it is forwarding.. but it is group 50??
ok.. so i went into grp calling and overflow and put in grp 50 and left 770 in there then selected time based overflow and set the time to 15 but it still answers after 4 rings.
ok.. another issue.... When the AA picks up it gives a generic greeting and then gives the greeting we recorded for AA1. Where is the generic greeting coming from and how do i get rid of it?
If you dial 50 then you probably hear your AA? If so then extension 50 is built as AA1. If not then you need to determine how the call arrives at AA1. Since it is not group 50 then perhaps AA1 has the trunks assigned to it.
Your posts do not define if AA1 answers when you dial 50 locally. You should determine your path to AA first.
i found that it was actually x47 that was setup as an ext for AA1. When i have them transfer me to 47 i get the AA. I think i have fixed it now but i found the problem was that the generic message i was getting was from the night message. any idea why it would be playing the night greeting then going to the day greeting?
