I have to reconfigure my AA..Here is the question, can i leave AA #1 still active and build another one for AA #2 and then switch it when i'm finished and delete the first one?

Of course you can. AA2 does not become "active" until you specify what lines it will answer.
So you can build AA2 at your leisure - and when you are ready - specify that it will answer the lines originally answered by AA1.
