merlin messaging

I am changinging a merlin messaging 1.0 to a 4.0.
Can I use the same 6 port card and just restore information to the new 4.0 board.

You can't transfer the information from the 1.0 to the 4.0, however you can reuse the port license card which is usually the greater expense.

If you have a PC set up for WinSPM, connect it to the RS232 port on the Messaging, fire up Hyperterminal, log in as sysadmin and the numeric password from the system administrator's mailbox, and you will be able to download a text file of the current settings to guide you in setting up the 4.0
