Merlin Messaging user Lookup problem

Having an issue with some new extensions not being "looked up" properly on our phone system.

Here is the phone system info:

Merlin Magix 2.0 v 8.0
Merlin Messaging Release 2.5 - Software Version 2.5.13

With all that aside, here's the problem.

Recently, along with moving one of out offices and getting the phone switch re-programmed, we changed out from regular internal extensions to DID numbers. In order to preserve old voice mails, for a period of time, the old voice mail boxes are still on the system.

The problem is - when a user dials in and hits "*2" to lookup a name, it will direct them to the old voice mailbox, even if I delete it.

I deleted my old voice mail box and now the system tells me "no subscribers were found for the name entered". Prior to deleting my old mailbox, it did find me correctly. I tried re-adding my old mailbox, with the same extension and it still does not find me, even with the re-made old extension.

We had a couple of users who kept the same numbers, and they have had no problems. I am sure both the Merlix Magix and the Messaging system have appropriate labels, and I have reset the system as well.

Any insight on this would be appreciated :) - The voice mailboxes work fine, it just won't look them up properly from the main menu using *2

I would change 1 mail box for a test.

In fact, if you are sure you have changed the directory listing, I would erase the mailbox completely and start again.

ok, yeah I can give that a shot too, I don't keep a whole ton of voice mail, and no one can lookup my extension because of this anyway.

I'm hoping the duplicate labels aren't going to cause problems here..

Will let you know, thanks for the quick reply!

If you have 2 extensions with the same lable, it shouldn't be an issue. (you would get both choices when you *2)

Are you programming the Voice Mail directly, or letting the MAGIX do it?

Using the Merlin Messaging Admin Software... So however that works...

If I want to add a mailbox, I just open the Merlin Messaging Release 2.5 Admin software, add the mailbox and it usually works, as long as they are in the group cover - which they are, or they wouldn't get working voice mail at all, I found out.
