I am an intern at a marketing firm. I was put in charge of changing the voice recording for our telephone system. I was given a single file, and was told to put that file into Adobe Premiere Pro CC and break it up into six different files (one for the day time message, one for the nighttime message if anyone was to call after hours, etc.) when I put the single file into Premiere it showed up as the single file I put in AND six subfiles where the breaking up was already done. I exported the six files as mp3s and converted them using Switch Plus by NCH. I converted them to 8,000 sample rate and 8 bits per sample .wav files. I tested the files on the computer I work on (which is a Mac) and they sound fine. I bring them over to the computer that the Merlin Messaging system is on (which is a PC running windows 10. With Windows XP running in its own window. The Merlin program is old so it needs Windows XP to run.) and tested the audio files there and they work fine. The issue is when I try to import the file onto Merlin and it tells me that something is wrong with the file and asks if I would like Merlin to fix the problem. I click yes, and it tells me it could not load the file and to re-record and try again. When I preview the recording on Merlin it sometimes gets through the recording and repeats the last word that was spoken. Sometimes it can't even get through the recording without freezing up. Does anyone have any experience working with this?
