Are there any guidelines as to what size port card I need for the Merlin Messaging System with 50 MLX sets?

Mike in NH

Depends on a few factors:

Will they use Auto Attendant to answer ALL CALLS?

How much do they use Voice Mail? (Heavy, light?)

Usually a ratio of 8 to 10 extensions per port is acceptable, but sometimes you would more.

I have a 50 station Magix working now with only a 4 port card with no issues.

Merlinman,
What's involved to change it from a 4 to a 6 port down the road?

Mike

Merlin Messaging 2 and above is software upgradeable, so the hardware isalready on the systeem, it just has to be turned on. So the only thing needed is money, and a very small amount of programmig time.

You have to take out the Port Card and put in the other one.

Then, you can send the original Port Card back to Avaya for a bit of a REBATE.
