We have Merlin Messaging 4.0. When you pressed a "3" listed on the main menu you were taken to a sub menu. I deleted the submenu as it was no longer needed and changed the selector code to transfer to an extension (2400 that has no phone). Now when you press "3" I get a message that Menu 1 is not created. I also tried changing the selector code to send "3" to a mailbox in case it did not like it because 2400 had no phone. Same message--Menu 1 is not created. What am I doing wrong. When you press "3" from the main menu I want the caller to go to mailbox 2400 to record a message. TIA for any help.

Go in and listen to the menu definition: I bet selector code 3 is still going to submenu 1. It must not have been saved. You must Press *# when finished with selector codes, then when it asks to record a new greeting, press # and it will save the changes without having to record a new greeting.

If that's not it, I would see if for some reason your calls are going to AA2 versus AA1. I've seen that before.

Thanks for the reply. After reading your answer, I changed AA3 as that also referred to the submenu that I deleted and that worked. However, I have been modifying AA1 when changing the closing schedule for holidays and that has worked, as I have checked that on holidays. Any idea of what is going on? TIA.

After finishing your programming changes - you can go into the menu for the particular autoattendant you programmed or re-programmed and choose the option to "listen" to the AA menu. First listen to the menu definition - which spells out what each selector code is programmed to do - and then listen to the Menu prompt - to make sure it matches the selector codes accurately. If not - go back into the Modify menu and correct programming - then double-check again - by choosing the "listen" menu - to verify programming changes.
