Merlin Messaging R4 xfer to mailbox from dial by name

I have a customer(a school) that wants to have a dial by name directory that parents can get to and then xfer to the teachers voicemail. They do not want it to ring to the extension (for when class is in session).
Will the Merlin Messaging R4 do this?

Of course it can - but you need to know how it may impact other transfers and voice mail activity. How is the system setup now to handle voice mail? When does voice mail "kick-in"? What are the options a caller has now? Are their day vs. night AA actions different? Is this something they want only during school hours? or after school hours. Can they "spare" a special line or two (if necessary) to deal with leaving teacher's voice mail - you can set up AA2 to handle them if AA1 is doing something different. I assume during the day they have a "live" receptionist - or is everything routed through the voice mail system?

Give each of the teachers TWO mailboxes. The first one is the same extension number as their physical phone. It does NOT have their name in the directory.

The second mailbox is set up as WITHOUT a phone, has their name in the directory, and has a PHANTOM destination of their first mailbox.

Callers to the auto attendant spell out the name, get the second mailbox right away, but the incoming message goes into the regular mailbox AND lights up the message light.

I spoke to them a little more in depth. They only need the AA to answer after school is out so, they can have it ring in the classrooms then. During the day they will have a live attendant who can xfer them directly to the mailbox if class is in session.
