Merlin Messaging R4 No Audio when dialed into

One of my customers has a MerMess R4 (Proc is also R4) which was working fine. We had an issue with blown firmware on an 016 TTR mod in slot 6. The mail is in slot 7.

When you dial mail, it answers on one ring as usual, the port light blinks as usual, but we hear no audio.

I went in through the RS232 and did a restart - no luck

Repowered the system - no luck

Maint busy on slot 6 with and without an 016TTR - no luck

Any thoughts? Is the mail toast?

If slot 6 is blown and slot 7 is the mail, it could just be an issue of the slot. Did you try to move the mail to slot 6? The system doesn't like empty slots so just removing the 016 from slot 6 may not bring the mail back. You can either put a good 016 back in slot 6 or try moving the messaging to slot 6 and reprogramming it.

Yes, in the meantime, the other tech on site ended up moving it to 6, doing a renumber and all is well. Thanks!
