Magix R 1.5 w/Merlin Mesg V 1.0

We rebooted the Magix this afternoon and everything seems to work with a glaring exception:

Messaging is not picking up calls - extensions simply ring endlessly and the Auto Attendant is also not functioning.

We'e able to reach "Welcome to Merlin Messaging" by dialing the usual extension (770).
It's been rebooted again and there are no "alarms" on the Merlin Messaging module.
I attempted a restore via the 0# admin log in, but it said restore failed, message 1.
Unsure of what else might be helpful to solve this problem, so please let me know if reports/printouts would assist.
Thanks very much in advance~

Anne,

Sounds like you have lost COVERAGE PROGRAMMING.

You may need to do a restore from a BACK UP FILE on your PCMCIA card.

I guess I must ask, why did you re-boot?

Let's start there, and any more instructions will follow once we know that piece of info.

You may have some reprogramming to do - on the switch - as opposed to the Merlin Messaging - as Merlinman hinted. The fact that dialing 770 works - is a good sign. How was the system set up for voicemail? Did the AA answer on the 1st ring - or did it ring at a Reception phone first. Is the system in Key mode or Hybrid/PBX? The best first action would be to do a system restore from the processor backup PCMCIA card - and see if that resolves the problem (i.e., restoring the processor programming from the most recent backup).

Good morning, gents~
Thanks for the prompt replies - we had to reboot because of a power failure (beyond the UPS capability). The Magix lost sync with the PRI (I say this like I know what it means - ha!).
I'm checking programming and will also attempt the "system restore" thingy...

First drop all the errors in the error log and reset and restore the "T1" card first before doing any reprogramming.

AND A NOTE TO EVERYBODY READING If you have a T1 or Pri in your system please tell us in the beginning of your post.

Restore worked and everything appears to be functioning properly - but...

Hiya 1043- how do I drop all the errors in the error log? I'm looking at the console and see the errors but don't see where to erase them... alarmingly, the log says D Channel Inoperative @845am this morn, but we're recvng and sending caller ID which is the only thing I know about D Channel importance.

::groan::
I did not restore the T1 card first - is Magix going to implode any minute now? Should we all take cover?

While looking at the ERRORS, simply hit the "DROP" Button.

If you do not have one, now would be a good time to program one.

It's called "44X Drop" when you do "List Features".

1043, maybe we need a questionaire form filled out?
Or a simple list posted of what to do before you ask a question, like, if you are having problems with one station only form, or calling in or calling out form....

I am only half joking.

I only said that to prevent any unnecessary reprogramming. We take tech support calls all day here and have learned to ask that question right after we get the customers' name and phone number. It seems that the call that comes in 5 minutes before its time to go home and starts with "I have a easy question" ends up lasting 2 hours and involves a T1 issue.

Here's how I accessed the error log:
On the console:
Menu
Maintenance
System
Error Log
Last 99

The first error is a "Software Cold Start", but when I push Drop, it simply beeps at me.

I tried going into the Transient, instead of Last 99, and again, its a-beeping away... annoying little bugger.

I'd be willing to bet that your DROP Button, ISN'T.

I am sure we will figure that out soon.
