Merlin Messaging Module

Got a Merlin Messaging module that has had to have been reset a few times recently - acts like it is locked up. Question - this is the second module in this particular system but with the same port license card - has anyone ever had a port license card cause this kind of problem? I can't think that it could, but I guess anything is possible. Or did we just get another bad Merlin Messaging Mod? The original was a R2.0 the replacement is a 4.0 module.

I have one that did the same thing. We replaced the unit with a known working one, and even used a different port card.

I put the failing one in my lab, NO PROBLEMS.

The "known working" one, exhibits the same failures as before.

As you said, "locking up", and has to be rebooted.

I believe they have replaced the Port Card as well.

I suspect Power problems or Unit Load issues.
