We have a client that handles promotions. Currently, they have Magix R2 with MMSG R2.0. they are interested in receiving files of professional recordings for promotions. Then, import them into the MMSG as the recording for a mailbox or an Auto Attendant. We have already performed a backup to the network. I don't know where the recording lie in the backup files.

Can this be done?
do we need to upgrade?
What release minimum do we need?
what file type - I think .PCM?
Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank you in advance. As expeditious as possible, as well.

thank you.

Use the PC Admin software for the MMsgng. With that you can upload, and download voice files into the various locations. It connects to the MMsgng via an ethernet port. Before you do it, download one of the files and look at the compression rate with a wave file editor, and then upload the desired files with that same compression.

Pepperz-

What release are you referring to? The customer has an R2.0 and you can only choose to backup the the entire mail. was not yet available in the R2, plus that was just a visual interface for your messages. We've backed it up onto the network, but it puts it under:

C:program Files/Merlin Messaging R2 Admin/..../..../..../backups/....

You get the point. Anyways, when you go through windows explorer and get to the backup, it has one folder with the date, that opens to about 10 folders, and embedded in each folder are more folders and files. Any specific instructions you would be able to provide is appreciated. Thank you for your assistance.

Naperguy1, look at the page for an Autoattendant, there will be a little icon where yuo can record the message. That same interface can also be use to upload a wav file for that AA. It's pretty slick, buy you have to use the same compressions as the MMsgng to sound right, match the volume, etc.

Pepperz-
what release are you referring to or are you working on? Did the "Record" icon appear in 2.5 or 3.0 first. I am looking at the 2.0 and it is not there. thank you.

Now you're making me thnk, not fair. I know it was prior to R 3.0, I thought it was release 2.0, but maybe I'm off by a version.

I know it is in R3.0, I am just unsure if it is in 2.5! I appreciate your help in this matter. Now, what you are stating with the AA record function in whichever release it started in, is you click on the "AA Record" icon and it does .....

Is it possible for you you to send screen shots of what you may be looking at? Let me know and we can exchange contact info. Thank you in advance.
