I need to call into a Magix system and be transfered to an external number via a Merlin Messaging selector code. The numbering plan is 3 digits. I believe you program an adjunct extension for external call forward and do a selector code transfer to it, but I am not sure what those extensions would be for a 3 digit system. Can someone give an example of this entire procedure? Thanks darnold@americaii.com

Hi - this was covered here:
thread689-402799 here's what you do:

First, renumber an adjunct to something within your dial plan. Give it remote forward capability, and give it an authorization code so you can program it from another phone. Set up your selector code to transfer to the extension (you will need to make a "transfer-only" mailbox for it to be able to transfer from the auto-attendant). Forward the extension and you should be good to go.

What extension number should you use? Kinda depends on what the other phones are numbered as. Say you have extensions from 100 to 150, you could use anything else in the 151-199 range. You would find an unused adjunct (which would be in the 7300 range if you are in set-up space) and renumber it.

Here's a "cut-n-paste":

- Renumber an adjunct to become the desired Extension Number
- System Renumber>Single>Adjuncts>Old Adjunct No.>Enter>New Extension No.>Enter

- Assign Authorization Code to New Extension
- Extensions>More>Auth Code>Ext. No.>Enter>
Code:
>Enter
(Hint: Make the Authorization Code be the same as the Extension Number

- Enable Remote Forwarding
-	Remote Fwd>Extension No.>Enter

To Forward the Extension:
Go to a KEYSET, and press an SA Key
	Dial #80-[Authorization Code]-*31-9-[Outside Telephone Number] #

As far as the Merlin Messaging goes, log into mailbox 0, press 9 for programming, press 2 for extensions, dial the adjunct number and #, then press 2 to give it transfer only capability. Back up to auto attendant, select the AA, select day or night, press 6 to modify, enter the selector code, press 9 to modify, press 1 for selector code transfer, enter the extension number and #, press *#-# to save the changes without recording a new prompt, and you should be done.

Whew!
